On Tuesday June 5, 2012 COCA hosted our third annual Welcome to Construction Season Reception in Committee Room 228 at Queen's Park. The event enjoyed a great turnout with at least 40 MPPs, including 4 Ministers stopping by to say hello.
The keynote speaker for the event was Minister of Labour Linda Jeffrey with MPP Ernie Hardeman bringing greetings on behalf of the PC caucus and Paul Miller speaking for the NDP. Newly appointed WSIB Chair Elizabeth Witmer surprised the crowd by taking the podium briefly to commend the construction industry for their commitment to health and safety.
The Welcome to Construction Season reception and other COCA events at Queen's Park are excellent opportunities to connect with Ministers, MPPs and government staff to discuss issues important to our industry. COCA couldn't be more pleased with our latest event and would like to thank our members for participating.
